I was craving flatbread crackers and hummus. I had something similar for the first time last october in New Jersey when I visited trader joes for the first time. I got these sesame and rye flat bread crackers with  chipotle hummus. It is the aaa to the mazing! I loved this but I was trying to not eat the whole thing so I had two flat breads and 2 tbsp of hummus it was sooooo GOOD! It left such a delicious flavor in my mouth and I wanted more….but instead I ate a carrot…yeah. Good times can’t wait to have more tomorrow!

So I did 35 minutes on the elliptical today varying between 6-7 resistance. Then I did 35 minutes on the stationary bike to switch it up a bit. My butt hurt so much, I think from tomorrow I will do the recumbent bike instead. so total 509 calories burned! Woo. I really wanted to do the stair master instead of the bike but every time I went for it someone would get there right before me. :( my gym only has three stair masters out of which one was out of order hence… My brother is coming tomorrow so I really want him to show me some strength training I can do.

All in all today was a ridiculously clean and good day =)

250 Calorie Protein Packed Healthy Baked Falafels 

What you will need: 

-1 cup chickpeas (drained)

-3 tbsp fresh chopped parsley

-2 tbsp finely chopped onion

-2 tbsp garlic 

-1/4 tsp cumin

-1/4 tsp paprika 

-1/8 tsp baking powder

-1 tbsp flour (I used white but would recommend whole wheat)

  • Lemon juice of 1/4 of a lemon

Instructions: 

-Preheat over to 375 degrees

-Combine all the ingredients in a bowl or small pan. 

-Using a fork or a masher and mash all the ingredients together until all the chickpeas are smashed, do not smash it too much, you do not want it to be too smooth. 

-Using a spoon scoop out some of the mixture and form into patties, they should be about 2 inches wide and 1/2 thick. 

-Place on a baking sheet sprayed with non stick spray 

-Bake in the oven for 15-25 minutes, make sure you are watching them, when they have browned they are done. 

-Serve however you like ( I like mine in a pita pocket with hummus, pickles, and greek yogurt)

Biotin Review

First and foremost I highly recommend you speak to a doctor or another health care practitioner before taking any over the counter drugs. Not everything is suitable for everyone. 

Moving right along if you don’t know what Biotin is I suggest googling it and reading about it. In generic over simplified terms it is a water soluble B vitamin. 

The primary reason I decided to take it was because a few years ago I noticed my hair thinning out a lot! Up till recently it was easy to hide the patches that were thin but now it seemed harder and harder. This was another reason I wanted to get to healthy…to prevent any further hair loss. Now there is no concrete evidence on the fact that biotin helps or doesn’t but here goes my review. 

This is the biotin I have been taking for the past 4 weeks. 

It is 5000 mcg per capsules, I only take one a day. The differences I have noticed are it makes my nails grow like crazy! I mean my nails never grow and they grew this much in 4 weeks  

My hair seems fuller but its hard to attribute it to only biotin since I have been eating healthier and taking my iron (I have iron deficiency).  But my hair is falling out less, like much less, my hair seems fuller and IT HAS GROWN FREAKING ONE AND HALF INCH SINCE!! 

My skin is also much clearer again hard to say if its only the biotin or combination of not eating as much oily yuckiness. 

I am going to keep using it :) It seems to be working for me so yay! Keep you posted.

April Goals!

  • Get into my healthy BMI!! I mean I am only 7.2 lbs away and I really feel like I can do it
  • I need to stop being so damn lazy and start getting things done!
  • work out at least five days a week
  • Stop flipping out on a drop of a hat, like seriously I need to chill out
  • Throw away 90% of the stuff in my room
  • Start developing ideas for the reception

Official weigh in #4!

I weighed in at 147.4. Now according to my uncle’s scale in ATL I was 147.6 this past monday but I for sure know I probably weighed more then because following that weigh in I had smores, ice cream, fro yo, pizza and way too much taco bell. I would not say I binged since I would healthy throughout the day and have an unhealthy dinner but I do feel good about the fact that I maintained my 147.4!

Now that I am back from ATL I am going to go back to being serious about all this….
MY WEDDING IS ONLY 97 DAYS AWAY!!!
